MKM Insurance understands the importance of commitment and taking the time to build long and trusting relationships with Indigenous communities. With the help of Indigenous professionals, we have developed an Indigenous relations strategy to guide our work.
We are committed to listening and understanding the stories of Indigenous Peoples – their history and how they want to work together. Our efforts will be to collaborate with and prioritize relationship building and client satisfaction with the Indigenous communities we work with.
MKM Insurance takes great pride in our approach. We strive to inform our clients about all of their options and the impacts both short and long term. Our goal is to remain transparent and ensure the needs of the communities we work with are met.
We recognize the insurance industry isn’t immune to the systemic issues, discrimination, and bias felt by Indigenous Peoples and communities. We will endeavour to amplify voices and the stories of Indigenous communities to stakeholders in the insurance industry, government, and other partners. MKM Insurance is willing to advocate on behalf Indigenous communities, but will only do this with the support from the Indigenous communities we work with.
